Sintas Vel
The Bloodstained Rose
It is not death that should be feared, but an unwillingness to truly live. For it is that which we do in our lives that echoes into eternity.

Taller than most midlanders, a legacy of the elezen half of her gene-pool, Sintas stands at just under six fulms in height. But it is not, entirely, her height that draws attention, but instead the pointed hyuran ears with which she hears. Likewise, her radiant amethyst eyes, unusual in hyur and elezen alike, could easily be considered 'captivating' by most.
Her crimson mane of hair, shoulder in length, seems to have a perpetually tousled look, one that almost seems to beg for the enterprising to try and come it with their fingers.
She is powerfully built, muscular without losing her beauty, and her large, full breasts are capped with nipples slightly larger than the average. Countless scars, garnered from her time on the Bloodsands, litter her body. Though healed, they are a legacy of a life that has been anything but passive or peaceful.
Around her neck, ever and always, is an amulet made of a dark, reflective metal, one shaped like a beautiful rose.
The past of the gladiatrix Sintas Vel, know by the epithet of 'The Blood-Stained Rose', is one that is shrouded in utter mystery. Indeed, the average person on the street could tell you only a handful of things with any degree of confidence:
First, that she is half-Hyur and Half-Elezen.
Second, that she is both beautiful and known for her reckless, injury-prone fighting style.
Third, that she seems to love nothing more than the fight.
Simply appearing one day on The Bloodsands, some three months after The Fall of Dalamud, without any of the usual fanfare or advertising that tended to be made for new gladiators, her lack of past, crimson hair, and bold attitude quickly made her popular despite her obvious inexperience and shoddy equipment.
As she won more and more matches, winning money and receiving sponsorships by people of means, her equipment evolved and her behavior grew more confident, though she never quite lost her reckless nature.
On the contrary, she seemed to take greater risks than ever before, never ending a fight before she had been wounded at least once or twice, to the bafflement of those with the training to see she was allowing herself to be wounded deliberately and the excitement of the crowd.
It is this excitement that she cared for. To drive the betting, to grow her reputation, to live up to her nature as a rose that finished her battles stained in blood. A base manipulation of the bloodlust that the arenas patrons so deeply desire.
The reignited war with Garlemald, however, and that which followed, put an end to her dominance in the arena. For reasons known only to herself, she virtually vanished from the gladiatorial circuit, instead joining the Immortal Flames and fighting far and wide for a greater cause.
Whether she is trying to enhance her reputation, find herself, rebuild herself, or simply find a death that she did not receive on the bloodied sands of the coliseum, no one knows.
Perhaps not even herself.
Roleplay Hooks
■ Other Ishgardians, especially those connected in some intimate way to House Haillenarte, may recognize her, though not necessarily given the time and changes she has been through.
■ Natives of Ul'dah, or those who keep up with the gladiatorial matches of The Bloodsands, could certainly recognize her from witnessing a match or hearing about one.

I like to consider myself a flexible player who is willing to commit to a number of different types of scenes and role-play scenarios, but even I have my limits. If something is on the play list, assume it means yes, as long as it's within the context of the current play or ongoing plot. No's are typically a hard no, and it means don't ask.
■ I will play almost any kind of RP. Anything with permanent, IC effects must be cleared with me first.
■ Ask about any sort of ERP or long-term IC effects.
■ I won't play anything I don't want to!
■ I enjoy OOC chatting and familiarity, to a greater or lesser degree depending on the subject. I understand most do not, however, so I don't consider this a requirement to play with me, more an expression of acceptance to your needs or wants on the subject.
Yes, I play with visual mods, because it needs to be done. Look, this game is gorgeous, way better than World of Warcraft or Star Wars: The Old Republic. And I couldn't be more proud that we are the most accessible MMORPG out there, with people able to join us on Playstation and XBOX, I think it is one of the many things that makes this game great. That doesn't, however, change the fact that said console does severely limit what can be done graphically. Thus, the mods.
Mods are not by any means required to RP with me. If you don't want to use them, that's fine. Your character, your game, your screen, your choice. However, to get the full picture (literally) of Sintas, input my Mare Synchronos code!
